SSB Standalone: Systematics in the Swamp

The Sessa lab will be the primary host for the next standalone meeting of the Society of Systematic Biologists! The meeting will take place from January 3–6, 2020 at the University of Florida. SSB has held several of these standalones (so called because SSB is the only society involved; contra Evolution, for example, in which multiple societies participate) since 2015, and they are always a vibrant and welcoming opportunity for the systematics community to come together to learn about the latest research in our field and discuss pressing issues. As with the last few meetings, there will be two days of workshops (January 3 and 6) and two days of primary meeting (January 4–5). The latter will include lightning talk sessions and forum discussions focused on several hot topics in systematic biology.

Registration will open July 1 at this link:

We anticipate having travel awards available for students! Please email if you have any questions about the meeting, and check the meeting website linked above regularly for updates. We hope to see you in Gainesville in January!
